Those who are Ontario-bound may want to consider adding this place to their itinerary. Killbear provincial park remains one of Canada's lesser-known attractions. For first-timers, especially those who are leaving a big city, a pleasant surprise awaits. The park is a perfect microcosm of all the best that the Canadian near north has to offer. For shutterbugs, there are countless classic islets with pines trees atop sloping granite shores. One will also see wildlife and truly outstanding sunsets. There are black bears but no grizzlies. Swimmers, hikers, painters and fisherfolk will be pleased. Only Algonquin park features better canoeing. Book well ahead and research the best camping sites. Most everything is suitable for families. Nearby cottage rentals are also a great idea. *My only misgiving is that there are too few faces of colour amongst visitors, staff and in cottage country. Shame, in 2015. I am done. The end.

I am done. The end.
