How do you type French or other european languages

With their fingers?

I just type without the accents 'cause I don' t have them on my keyboard, but sometimes in replying to my Quebec or French relatives' emails I'll cut and paste accents from their messages into my words.

With their fingers on the keyboard?

on some keyboards you can use use alt commands to give you french letters. I don't know all of them, but the ones I commonly use are:

alt 130 = é
alt 131 = â
alt 133 = à
alt 135 = ç
alt 136 = ê
alt 138 = è

Or just do what my mom did, and buy a french language keyboard...

Using Windows you can usually just install the language support for whatever languages you're trying to type. Then you can convert the keyboard back and forth (Alt-Shift) and once you learn which keys the accents are on, it's easy.
