Hi. I've checked the FAQ's and haven't found a post for this but I'm sure it's been asked lots of times.
We need a hotel in Toronto - only for 1 night and if it's within walking distance of the bus station that would be perfect. We don't need luxury - just clean.
Budget - under $150 CAD preferably.
I know I can Google a whole list of hotel names but nothing compares to local knowledge, or travellers who have stayed somewhere they can recommend.
Thank you.

Try Tripadvisor.com, you can search for hotels in Toronto by price and check the reviews of people who have stayed there.
a date would be helpful too...
you will find the rates will be different on either Nov.19th or July 1st.

There's a Days Inn on Carlton, near Yonge. That's about 4 blocks from the bus depot. There is also a Best Western on carlton & Jarvis, which makes it about 7 blocks to the bus. The Metropolitan is the most expensive of these three but its across the street from the depot.

Any Holiday Inn (unless it is Holiday Inn select) is under 150 Cdn or Travel lodge usually. What you can do as well, is when you land go to the desk of the airline you flew and they will recommend a hotel that is within your budget. Or you can just ask a taxi driver, they will know too, but make sure its within close proximity of the airport or they may take you out to Mississauga or somewhere further to run up the bill. Generally, people will help you out. If you are really stuck, go to the West Jet airline desk (if there is no line) and ask them, they are really helpful and nice.
The travel lodge on airport road and dixon road corner is good. It has a good breakfast place attached to it as well, called Perkins.

Delta Chelsea on Gerrard street offer a special weekend rate of $119/night. Great location and a good hotel.
