First off, I'm a US citizen with a valid passport. I can't enter Canada without great trouble due to a criminal record.

So let's say I wound up in Canada somehow. I never had my passport entered because I never entered legally.

I make it up to Alaska without any problems. Now I go to the border with my passport to go back to the US.

My question is, will it show up that I never entered Canada? Can I bullshit and say that I did? Anyone with insight to this, or experience?

If you make it to Alaska you will already be in the US, and don't need a passport to fly to another part of the US.

I meant to say that I make it through Canada right up to the border crossing, Alaska/Canada. I'll be on foot going through the crossing.

You plan to walk the Al-Can Highway?

Haha, nope. Not that ambitious. Likely hitchhiking.

I can offer no advice on your border-crossing strategies I'm afraid (discussion of and advice on illegal activities is outside the forum guidelines in any case).

Well, for my purely hypothetical question, I bonked my head and confusingly...woke up in Canada. And I decided while I was in Canada, that going to Alaska would make the most sense.

Stuff happens ... a lot of people have a lobotomy and wake up as an Australian.

Also, my question is not about the illegal act of border hopping, nor is it about the time spent in Canada.

For example, crossing into Mexico from the US involves zero passport check or passport scan. You can then cross back into the US with your passport, and there was never any record of you being there.

Crossing into Canada is slightly different, because they scan your passport.

Crossing into Alaska by land from Canada, I will only be talking to a US border patrol agent. I believe this is to:
a.) Ensure your passport is valid
b.) Check for major warrents

Are you certain about this ... I thought Mexico and the Caribbean now did require US citizens to carry a passport, and there were border processes involved.
