I agree with Sunbird. It's only about 4 hrs or so from Lake Louise to Jasper, so plenty of time to do that and the snocoach tour. Would suggesting skipping the "Glacier" Skywalk. It's nowhere near any glacier, and gets very mixed reviews. This year they bundled it with the snocoach tour - a pretty sure sign they felt they wouldn't get enough people visiting it unless it was a package "deal". You can get separate tickets for the snocoach tour at the tourist office (not the Parks Centre) in Lake Louise.

That way you can book a campground. At 30-32 ft, you're going to be beyond the suggested length limit for any of the campgrounds along the parkway with the possible exception of Rampart Creek (and one other?). Doable, but only if you are experienced in parking/reversing such a large vehicle. You might be able to find a space, but if campgrounds are full or you can't find one with a space that's large enough, you've wasted a lot of time/energy.

I'd probably just book an extra night in Jasper. The Columbia Icefields are only 1-1.25 hrs from Jasper, so can be done as a day trip or you can start early, then do the tour first and have the rest of the day on the parkway. There will be plenty of daylight.

Would suggesting skipping the "Glacier" Skywalk.

We stopped and had a look very soon after it opened.

Can't say we could see the point of it really - as ksneds says above, there is no glaciation anywhere nearby, and the view from the device didn't seem a huge advance on that which we could admire from the footpath for free.

Being able to look down via a see-through floor suspended above a valley ... pretty old-hat these days.

Thank you both for your insight. I will take everything under advisement. We are experienced driving a motor home, traveled Spain France and Iceland with one. Though not as large (motor homes in Europe are smaller and less pampering). Since we are traveling with children we are a bit slower, want to hike and do on so still Hoping to get a space early in the morning at the Colombia glacier rv Campground. It's the largest one on the parkway and Is suited for larger rv according to the National Park Web site.

If you're comfortable with something smaller, it is essential to rent one that is so big?

we didn't have a lot of time to really do a thorough enquiry with local rent agencies. So it was easier for us to use an agent in our country. On our specific dates this kind was the only one available suitable for a family of 5....wasn't our first choice.
