"... I happen to think that the great pilgramage to Alberta is at the beginning of the end..."

I wish that was true.

Seeing that Alberta's immigration is almost 4 times the national average, there are obviously a lot of people moving there - and staying.

Whether they like or not, I can't say, but they're certainly not returning home. I wish they were.

Cheers,
Terry

cre8-I also have satellite and kill myself laughing watching NTV-my favourite are the station commercials-the ones for their news programs and such.
I'm such a snob.

I hate the "Great place on Earth" slogan.

it doesn't seem very "Canadian" does it?

Maybe they were trying to emulate that "I am Canadian" campaign Molson had a few years back?

I really like watching NTV. I'd much rather watch music videos and locals than polished sales hacks and regular commercial tv. Plus I get to watch everything early.

Calgary's population has been climbing for quite some time, but it wasn't until last year that housing costs finally caught up with the growth. As for the OP, all those people you speak of, searching for the pot of gold, I'd assume are lower paid workers.

Cost of living isn't that bad either...especially if you work in the oil biz!
