I am going to live and work for about a year in either canada (Montreal) or Europe (Stockholm, Berlin, Zurich). Which one? Canada is more hassle but i've never been...

Depends where you're from. If you're European, then go to Canada, if you're American or Antipodean then I'd recommend going to Europe. Personally, being European, I'd choose Canada every time, and Montreal is a fantastic city (although I prefer Quebec)

Agree with above..lived in Toronto for 6 months and then went travelling up the east coast Ottawa,Montreal, Quebec, Newfoundland, etc..Montreal is such a fun city..party mad..great university city that stays open late at nights...west coast of canada is fantastic...
Canada for sure as so much to see on both coasts..Toronto is a typical North American city but good for work to earn for your travels.

I'll only say that Zurich is one of the most boring modern cities on the planet.

There are a lot of Swedes in Stockholm, make your own call on that reality.

If Europe, choose Berlin over any other city. Much easier to meet people than in Zurich (and you're even allowed to be loud, shower after 11pm, etc.). Berlin was the Europan city of the 20th century and is a crossroads of culture, ideas and innovations. Much unlike Zurich.

Nothing bad to report on Stockholm - it's actually a very beautiful city but I'm not sure how easy it is to meet people. Strike a conversation about hockey?
