Hi all,

I will be camping in NF and Lab. For a few weeks Mid August through early Sept.

Does anyone know if there are places where my tent stakes will go in smoothly, or are sites pretty rocky.

Any suggestions for camping in the most scenic of areas?

Thanks..

It is mostly rocky by the seashore but lots of places to plant your tent stakes. I believe one of the most scenic area is in the Gros Morne park.

The provincial campgrounds in Newfoundland are wonderful and scenic. I was driving a small RV there last year but there are lots of grassy areas where you could pitch a tent - it's not all rock :) I did drive the Trans Labrador Hwy through to Quebec. As I recall there was only one or two provincial campgrounds. We camped in the parking lot of libraries and such. You could probably pitch a tent on their grassy areas but there would be no washrooms or water available at night.

Follow the links above. They will even send you a printed Newfoundland Labrador Travel Guide with all the campgrounds in them.
