very easy. make reservations.

it sucks to pay an extra 16 bucks or whatever, but it is ALWAYS backed up all summer, weekdays are sometimes ok, but wouldnt you rather pay 16 bucks and not have to worry about it at all

I think the reservation fee is still CAN$15, but still if you don't use the booking, then that money is is thrown out the window. If you do use it though, often a good idea in the summertime, then at least you will board the boat, and get on with your vacation. If you are prepared to wait a bit on some days though, at Horseshoe Bay or at Swartz Bay, you can save yourself that fee. There are ferries every hour, so sooner or later you'll be sailing.

Reservations are a must. Do not lose your res # and be early!
Packing your own food is recommended as the ships sale trash! IMO
