Just a little PSA announcement:

After 20 hours of driving from the states to Halifax, Nova Scotia and desperately starving, I went to the Maxwell Plum, in the Quinpool area. Very quaint and the food was excellent and the beer was cold. You can't beat 2 burgers and plate of fries for $5.

But to my surprise Mon-Friday until 5:00pm its $2.50 for your plate of food plus your drink. My bill was around & $8.00 dollars.

So thank you Maxwell Plum pub for a superb plate of food.

Ah...the Plum. Excellent selection of beer on tap. Decent cheap food too. I just wish they'd turn that damn stereo down!
I wouldn't say it's in the Quinpool area though, it's right downtown. If you're still around the area, try Rogue's Roost on Spring Garden, great microbrewery and a fine people watching spot (overlooks the street).

Does Maxwells Plum still have all those peanut shells all over the floor?
My first, and only time there, there were peanut shells everywhere. Good food though!
