I'm planning an overlanding trip through South/East Africa and am looking for feedback on some of the overlanding companies out there. I'm planning to hit Kenya, Zimbabwe, Botswana, South Africa and anything on the way, and would like to do this in 30-40 days. The two companies that look right for my budget right now are Kumuka and Absolute Africa. Your help is much appreciated!!
I am planning to spend roughly 10 days just chilling out on a beach or beaches when I first arrive in SA. I am undecided whether to fly to Durban, spend a couple of days there, head to Coffee Bay, then Cinsta and then PE. Or, just fly to PE and head up to Cinsta (Buccaneers) and settle in for the whole period. I am looking to just relax and splash around in the sea - learning to surf would be great, but not essential. I hate cold water - I'm hoping the entire Wild Coast is warm - hoping.

Hi everyone! I am planning on continuing my traveling with a trip around africa and am planning on being there for about a year and i have been trying to find out how much it will cost me. So if anyone has done a similar trip (and done it cheaply) I am really interested in how much they spent! Also if anyone has done some volunteer work over there i would love to hear about some good organizations. Thanks!

I have quite bit of experience climbing in South America (some above 22,000) and I should be well acclimated to altitude even before I leave for Tanzania, so I'm not worried about the altitude. I'd like a bit of a challenge. What else should…

Incredibly fed up at work and long having wanted to go to Namibia, I'm thinking about leaving for a 3 week trip at the end of February. Is this a lousy time of year to go? Will I see a lot of stunning scenery but only one antelope?
Also, I've traveled quite a bit and have been mostly a combination of lucky and careful in terms of not getting sick. In fact the only time I got anything was in Egypt (giardhia). Never any problems in Asia or S.America. I would be willing to accept a bit of ickiness…
hello :)
i am planning a trip to egypt, around 10 days in may. plan is to visit the major sites eg cairo aswan abu simbel etc.
i am just at the early planning stages but i've read and heard in many places that foreign tourists can't travel between cities by themselves but need to be in a police convoy or something like that.
how does this exactly work? are there special busses? or the convoy story only applied to cars? how often do these convoys run and does this restriction apply in the whole…
