Friendly and efficient Ghana embassy in Berlin hands out 3 month / multiple entry tourist visas to German nationals and legal residents without need for a Letter of Invitation. Validity is 3 months post date of issue. Electronic hotel booking and return / onward flight reservation required, as well as some proof of financial means (pay slip is fine). Yellow fever certificate was not requested. The electronic form asks for two contact persons – I filled in the name of the hotel, as well as the…

First: thanks for the inevitable warning that I should hire a driver, but really not interested. I have self-driven through many countries with worse roads and with more hectic driving than Ethiopia, including several in sub-Saharan Africa, so I am really not worried about getting behind the wheel.

As for the main point: I'm wondering if anyone has recently hired a car for a self-drive trip around Ethiopia? I have found a few posts previously about this, but none very recent. One from…

How popular is cryptocurrency in South Africa? Next month I plan to fly to Cape Town and stay there for 2 years, but lately I have become interested in cryptocurrency and would not want to stop learning new things and maybe even try to trade cryptocurrency, finding cool in South Africa. Are there cryptocurrency experts on the forum who can help me with tips and answer some of my questions?

We start our trip to the Seychelles on Nov 18. I understand that there can be heavy rainfall and I wonder if we should adapt our planning to this. Is it useful to have some sort of alternative program on rainy days (and what could this be?)Or do we have to expect rather short, passing showers that don't really affect a hiking tour or beach visit?

Again, many thanks!

We have about 8/9 days in Tunisia in mid-December. We are thinking of spending 3 nights in Tunis - Carthage, Bardo Museum - and a day trip to Dougga. We are into archeological sites. First, staying in Tunis it sounds as if it is better to stay in Ville Nouvelle, or at least of the edge of the Medina, because restaurants may not be open in the Medina in the evenings at this time of year. Is it worth spending a night in Sidi Bou Said at this time of year? How easy is it to arrange car hire…
