Hi fellow travelers

Two of us (me and my wife) will be reaching Kenya on 9th August morning. We plan to hire a self-drive 4x4 Land Cruiser do a roadtrip including Amboseli and Masai Mara safari. Plan also includes camping in roof-top tents for atleast a few nights.

So am looking for like-minded adventure-oriented travel partners for sharing the cost for the self-drive Land Cruiser hire and taking turns with driving and clicking photographs.

If anybody here is traveling to Kenya on same dates…

I booked a room with Uganda Lodges which I paid for via their booking platform Nightsbridge. Due to unforeseen circumstances I had to cancel the room soon afterwards. Uganda Lodges has a policy to refund any deposit (less 25 percent) if a cancellation was made more than 30 days before the stay. My cancellation was made almost 2 months before my stay. But guess what - I haven't had any money back! There have been countless emails back and forth, and at first they claimed they couldn't find the…

Hi All!

I'll be traveling by bus from Bulawayo to Johannesburg in September. Which is the most comfortable bus company to use? I think there's Intercape, Greyhound and a couple of others.

Also, I'm going to have around 8 hours to kill in Bulawayo, what is there to do?

TIA

Just a heads up, due to football / political violence in Tigray & Amhara all govt buses were suspended across the border between these towns last week - on the day flights were at 350 Euros between the towns, with the discount included. We got a bus to the border then a private car in the end.

The situation was still the same a few days ago with the buses, not sure if it’s lifted now but thought a heads up may be useful if anyone else is relying on public transport.

Does anyone know the cheapest way for me to get from Swakopmund to Windhoek intl. Airport? I have tried to contact a few shuttle companies but have had no replies. I have seen Inter Cape can get me to Windhoek but the arrival time is a bit late, so would need a 7/8am departure from Swakopmund. Any help appreciated!

We are spending 6 weeks in Africa but sadly only 10 days in Malawi. Will be in Zambia visiting Livingstone as well as some time at a school near Kitwe then a week at South Luangwa. After Malawi we will spend a week at either Zanzibar or Mafia Island Tanzania. Conflicted about what to do in Malawi. We would be to do a 7 day cycle trip. We are very fit and 60 yrs old. experienced budget world travellers. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hey all!

we wanted to visit Sharm El Sheikh this year and my mother loves long walks on the beach. Are there places you could suggest / recommend? I've heard most hotels have their own private beach...

Many greetings,
Florian

In Ghana there are 1 hour of time zone, compared to Italy, 2h when in Italy the summer time is in effect

To enter Ghana it is necessary to have an entry visa, for tourism, to be requested at the Embassy of Ghana in Rome (in Brescia they no longer issue visas), or by relying on a travel agency that delivers the file for you.<snip> I sent the following documents:

  1. printed flights
  2. Hotel bookings to cover the entire trip, made through Booking (even if on the website of the Embassy of Ghana in…

Seems to be becoming one of the most popular destinations in Africa, but is it possible to get way off the beaten track with 4 weeks at your disposal? Would like to get out to some very remote villages especially. Was considering Togo and Benin but changed to Ghana when I realised I'd need more French than I could learn in the few months before my trip.
