Hi Everyone
We're looking at doing a 4x4 trip from Cape Town to the top of Africa and then across to Europe in my 2004 Landrover Defender with our little dog, Rosie!
Naturally, we have loads of questions but there are two I need to know before I look any further into this!
1) Is it possible and relatively safe to do this?
2) Will we be able to take the dog across borders?
If these are remotely possible then there will be a big discussion to follow!
Look forward to hearing from you!
Hi.
I am going to visit Tanzania between the 14th of october and 3th november. Is it nessesary to book anything in advance? Hostels, safaris, transport, tours?
Hello All
I'll be landing at Nairobi Airport on 9th Aug morning and leaving back on 18th Aug early morning.
I'd want to view a bit of authentic tribal culture, views of kilimanjaro and some wildlife. Photography is going to be major focus, tbh. I think trying to fit in Lamu/Diani would be too much probably.
Also, as it generally goes without saying, am on a tight budget so might be needing to spend some extra time for public transportation wherever required. But yeah, wouldn't mind packaged…
Hi everyone,
Please critique my itinerary! Let me know your thoughts - my concerns are it being too rushed, whether Djibouti is worth it, and if I should swap something out to go to Lalibela or even somewhere else.
Day 1 - Explore and overnight in Addis Ababa
Day 2 - Early flight to Gondar, explore castle, overnight in Gondar
Day 3 - Simien Trekking - camping overnight
Day 4 - Simien Trekking - camping overnight
Day 5 - Finish Simien trek and fly to Addis Ababa in evening
Day 6 - Fly to…
I will be traveling on the train from Botswana to Bulawayo and then from Bulawayo to Victoria Falls. I need to do 3 things in Bulawayo :
(1) Buy a train ticket at Bulawayo station
(2) Take a taxi from the station to a supermarket and back
(3) Buy food and drinks at the supermarket
I will only have US $ Cash and an international Credit card.
Do the railway station and supermarket accept international Credit cards ?
How do I pay the taxi ?
Many thanks
i am a european woman, I have been sharing with another male European friend (who i am not married to) during my stay in Morocco and had no problems.
Does this law apply between two unmarried women when one of them is Moroccan?
Flying into Nairobi from Detroit. Returning to Detroit from Nairobi. That is more economical than two 1 way tickets or an open jaw ticket.
I plan to do one internal flight. Either Nairobi to Kigali and overland back through Rwanda and Uganda. Or overland through Uganda and Rwanda and then fly back to Nairobi at the end of my trip.
What makes more sense? Just the same? What would you do?
Anxious to hear your thoughts.
Ben
Hey all, Canadian 39/F here. I have a 2-week trip to Madagascar planned for this September and I am definitely getting excited. I have a few questions for people who have recently been:
Any recent experiences with people having obtained the "autorisation de débarquement" from the new eVisa website? It seems that the site is now working, more or less, but I've heard reports that most of the agents on the ground at Ivato don't know what they are and that they don't provide any advantage…
Hi there,
My husband and I are planning to visit Egypt in October.
We're trying to stick to a backpacking budget - so $150 AUD between the two of us per day (for everything incl food, travel, accomo)
Going off forums I'm thinking the following as our itinerary - any tips/advice?
Day 1 - Cairo
Day 2 - Giza/Pyramids
Day 3-4 - Aswan/ Abu Simel
Day 5-6 - Luxor/ Valley of the Kings
Transport
- should we be looking to book a tour or is it generally safe to manage travel on our own?
- what is the best…
