Zambian Visa on the train from Tanzania?

Can anyone confirm that you can get a Zambian Visa aboard the Tazara train from Dar es Salaam to Zambia? I have heard that you cannot, but recently read that you can. Or can you at least get one at the train station in Dar? I'm trying to avoid the extra time spent to go to the Zambian Embassy.

yes you can. boarder crossing staff come onto the train in nomands land.

yes, nomads land is where we are getting off unfortunately. closest station to where i used to live. nakonde actually has a really sweet marketplace and you can wind through there to the tanzanian side without going through immigration. but we just crossed over for a beer and back.
