Hi I would appreciate any advice on the best way of getting from Kilimanjaro to Zambia to see Victoria Falls. I am staying in a school and orphanage in Tanzania for 2 weeks and would love to go see Victoria Falls afterward just for a few days. I have been trying to find out if there are flights from Kilimanjaro airport to Zambia but I cant find any so far!? Has anyone tried this route before or have any tips?! thank you very much! xx

hey if you have time there is a train, the tazara i think its called, it goes from dar to lusaka and it would take a couple of days, its a great experience. it would be good if you have a flexible timeframe.

If timeframes are tight then the most direct way is to fly Dar (or Arusha) - Joburg (or Harare) - Vic Falls (on the Zim side) or Livingstone (on the Zam side). Not cheap but it will get you to where you want to go. Last I checked there were no direct flights between Dar / Arusha and Vic Falls / Livingstone.

Last I checked there were no direct flights

There was a direct LVI-JRO flight back in 2003 when I was last at Vic Falls, but not for years and years as far as I know. A quick search shows flights from Kilimanjaro or Dar to Lusaka at US$600-$800, and Dar-LVI at about $900. This is with international carriers.

Travel pics, many from Africa and Middle East/Central Asia.
The newest are from Algeria, South Korea and Taiwan.

Thank you all very much!!!! The flights option is sounding a bit expensive and going back on myself now!! I will look into the train option! I did a russian overnight train once so it would be funny to do it again! Thank you all for your advice. Asante Sana x
