Hi
I was after any recommendations on where to stay in Lusaka?
I'm meeting my Zambian friend in the capital in February for about 5-6days. Was after somewhere nice and comfortable, not expensive. Ideally two nice rooms. Any suggestions will be more than welcomed. Thanks again.
Andrew

I've stayed at chachacha backpackers a few times. cheap, safe, fun. Might be known as Lusaka Backpackers but it is the same thing. Taxi from the airport costs about $25 and its about ten minutes in a car from the centre and bus station.
i stayed at pioneers camp outside lusaka and that's a really nice place
a good restaurant & bar, a small pool, a big and beautiful garden
accommodation is ensuite in lovely chalets or shared bathroom in nice but simple bungalows
Fairview Hotel on Church Road is a close taxi ride away to restaurants, bars, places of interest. Also within walking distance of National Gallery, government buildings, Cairo Road, Kamwala Market and Intercity Bus Station. 350,000 Kwacha for a twin. Staff were friendly and helpful.
I found Chachacha to be noisy and wouldn't stay there again. My friend and I left some bags there while doing a canoe trip. On return we couldn't find any staff and were able to walk in and take our bags without anyone questioning us. We were supposed to stay a second night but chose not to.
I have heard good things about Pioneer Camp.
