Hi all, I'm back from a family holiday in Uganda and Burundi, and preparing this trip I found a lot of useful information on this forum, so now it's my turn to post a short review.
Searching this forum, I had read about lake Bunyonyi and as we like hiking, we booked the 5-day trek called Gorilla Highlands trail from Kabale to Buhoma. It is organised by Edirisa travel and the guy who runs it was very helpful in finding accommodation and private transport from Entebbe airport to lake Bunyonyi. So…
Hey
Any idea how to get from mbale to murchison (I guess masindi)?
And from masindi to kibale forest for chimpanzee (I guess fort portal)?
Please mention if you know the frequencies of the transportation of this routes..
Thanks guys
Hello everyone,
I would like to go from Kampala to Juba via Gulu. I am considering about to make a stop at Gulu.
My question is: How is Gulu? I've read there are many NGOs there bacuse of the LRA.
Thanks for your help in advance.
Hi all,
I'm planning a trip to Uganda in October, to see gorillas in Bwindi National Park. The recent violence in DRC has me a bit concerned though. I've checked the British FCO, and there's no additional warnings over it, but the Canadian foreign affairs site is now warning against travelling to that area.
Has anyone been through their in the past couple of weeks and can offer some insight? I realise by October the whole situation will likely change...
Thanks!
Hello dear travelers!
We´ll be landing in Uganda on the 30th Sept (around 11pm). The purpose of this trip is mainly to trek the Nkuringo mountain gorillas group (on the 4th). We have to be in Nairobi on the 9th of October.
Could someone help us to draw an itinerary?! Our main attraction are the landscapes and tribes. We are also going on a budget if you can recommend somewhere to stay and transportation. Its our first time in Africa.... ;)
P.S. I´ve been doing lots of research but still…
In July 2014 the four of us want to go to Uganda. This forum gave me plenty of good information, But I have still some questions.
-We want to combine Uganda with Mozambique. First Uganda (14 days) and after that Mozambique (10 days). Are there any experiences with combining these countries? Do anybody know what the flight in July costs?
-I read a lot of information about self drive or using a driver. In 2012 we did self-drive in Namibie and it was quite easy. Can I compare the roads of…
We are looking for a nice budget option in Jinja to relax a few days. We want something with swimming pool, we have our own camping equipment so that is also possible for us, but also a cheap hotel/hostel is ok. Only we want a nice swimming pool to relax.
A friend from the Far East will be doing the Bigodi Swamp walk on the morning of the 29th and Chimp Tracking in Kibale with the afternoon session. Departure is from Fort Portal. Anyone headed in that direction interested in splitting costs? Write dausimeon@yahoo.com for further discussions.
Thank you
Hi guys, I am looking for a traveling partner in Uganda for the beginning of August.
Would like see some cool places, and maybe see the gorillas. I am actually already in Uganda, but am volunteering at the moment. Uganda is a really cool place, people are very friendly and the countryside is beautiful.
Cheers
