Who knows how the East African visa partnership system works, if you include Rwanda in your trip as follows:

  1. Get Uganda visa upon arrival in Entebbe airport
  2. Drive from Uganda to Rwanda (for Germans visa free entry)
  3. Drive from Rwanda to Tanzania and get visa on border
  4. Drive back from Tansania or - via Kenya detour - to Uganda

Concerning no.4, under the East African visa partnership system, will Uganda allow entry with single-entry-visa?

I am working in a school in Jinja for a week towards the end of July and would then like to tour around Uganda with my boyfriend. We are on a tight budget, but as this is a holiday as well as a travelling experience we don't want to make things too stressful. We would like to visit Mount Elgon, Sipi Falls, Murchison Falls and Kibale Forest. We cannot afford the gorilla trek. We dislike organised tours and the ones we have seen are very expensive. Our ideal situation would be to use public…

My wife and I are contemplating 4 weeks in East Africa - over mid Dec 2010 to mid Jan 2011. We have 3 children who will be aged 14, 13 and 12 by then. I understand minimum age for gorilla watching is 15 - is this correct and is it strictly enforced. We are thinking of 4 weeks in Rwanda, Uganda, Tanzania and Kenya - are we trying to do too much (no firm plans yet - any suggestions welcome). Is Dec-Jan a good time to travel through these countries? Any thoughts on travelling with children through…

We just travelled 2 weeks in Uganda in the beginning of January and wanted to share some information with other travellers.

We arrived from Kenya (visa was 50 dollars at border) and our first stop was Jinja. Stayed at the Explorer Backpackers camp up at the falls, camping was 5000 USH per person. Boda boda (motorcycle taxi) should be 3000 from the bus station in town or 2000 from the Backpackers place in town. Speeke camp next door charges only 3000 USH for camping per person, Backpackers has a…

I have to (and can't wait to) get out of India within 2 weeks. With Air Arabia I can fly from Delhi for a few hundred bucks pretty much anywhere (Africa, Middle East, Europe).

What I like most about travelling is honest, friendly locals; not fearing I'll be robbed; and cheap prices because I'm travelling for 1-2 years (cheap being a few dollars a day for accommodation and food). I like tutoring/teaching English for free in exchange for food & shelter in scenic rural places though I don't know…

Hi there,

I am interested in going to Murchison Falls National Park, and a poster to an earlier thread I started below helpfully directed me to Red Chilli's tour and their website. From here, I've found that Red Chilli run two different 3 day trips - one that includes the Ziwa Rhino Sanctury on the way back and another ($45 less) that doesn't. Has anyone been to the Ziwa Rhino Sanctury who might be able to advise if this is a good use of $45?

Secondly, I imagine that if I want to reserve a…

Heading into Uganda soon from Kenya. Planning to spend 2 to 3 months in Uganda and Rwanda. We are hoping to do a lot of trekking (Rwenzoris, Virunga NP, Nyungwe forest, Mt. Elgon (?), but are also interested in seeing gorillas, chimps, golden monkeys, visiting Jinja, Lake Kivu, Lake Bunyoni, Murchison Falls, Queen Eliz. NP, etc. Appears there is plenty to see and do and some tricky or non-existent public transportation at times. If you have any transport tips for Uganda Rwanda, or will be…

Hi,
I intend to go to Uganda in June to make the 7 days Ruwenzori trekking.
Has anybody gone from kampala to kases by postbus? cause i'm not sure if it arrives there, and how is it like?

Regarding to the Ruwenzori trekking, what's going on if you pay for reaching the margarita peak but eventually it's not possible because of the bad weather conditions?, is your money given back?, is it paid after reaching the peak?

Thank you so much!

Hi

I'm interested in traveling up through the Karamoja region, I know there is a direct bus from Kampala to Kotido but I would like to stop off along the way in Mbale, Soroti, Moroto, Kotido, then make my way back down through Gulu towards Kampala. How easy/difficult is it to town-hop like this around this region? I have no time limit. Thanks.
