Hi there,

I spent quite a bit of time reading the forum and the UWA website, but I can't find any information about actual availability for permits (for 4 people) in Oct / Nov this year.

We will be in Uganda from 16 Oct until the 5 Nov and would like to try to see the gorilla's. We were planning to buy the permits after arrival in Uganda as this seems to be possible, but after reading all the posts and seeing that August and Sept were sold out, I am getting a bit worried and would like to find…

Hello all,

Can anyone tell me how easy it'll be to reach Mbale by public transport if I come overland into Kenya via the boarder at Busia? I'd guess its a pretty straight forward journey from the more northern boarder post at Malaba but since I'll be starting the journey in Kericho the Busia crossing lots like an easier bet. What does anyone think?

Thanks for your help.

I'm trying to get gorilla permits booked for late September. I called the Ugandan Wildlife Service directly and they had some available but said I had to book through a travel agent in Uganda. On the very helpful advice of a fellow TT, I've emailed them to see if I can pay them directly but in the event that that doesn't work, do you know of any reputable travel agents in Uganda that I could get to book on my behalf?

Thanks!

I got roughly three weeks for my trip. I haven't been to Africa before but traveled a lot in India, Southeastasia, Central Asia and the Caucasus. Have skipped Africa in the past because of the costs involved. I don't…

Hi

Any help appreciated as we are travelling with elderly parents:

  • How long will this take?
  • Bus or Taxi (if possible)?
  • Safety?
  • Would you go by road or fly/drive option? (Jinja (drive to) Entebbe (fly to) Nairobi (drive to) Nakuru)

Thanks
J

Hello,

(from Africa Explorer)

"Same inquiry has been posted and received accurate responses x times in this section, so make a minimum of effort and search. "

After few searches, i'm not sure about the answer:

i've read somewhere , but cannot remember exactly, that a 24h transit maximum visa would cost $15. is it obtainable at Entebbe Airport? none of those information appears on the governement website.

my flight will arrive late afternoon, and the connection, by air, to Rwanda will leave…

Hi,

I will be travelling to Uganda by land from Kenya and would like to find out if I will be able to get a Visa on the border crossing or if I need to get one in advance in Kenya. I am a British citizen but am not able to apply for a visa in the UK before I travel.

Thanks very much

I have a free ticket to Uganda.
I have 5 or 7 days in late October and very little budget of usd 400-500.
I know that Gorilla Trekking is out of my budget.
What else I can do on my own?
I would love to visit Rwanda for a day or two if I can this side trip in to my plans?

Any ideas would be welcomed.

Thanks!
