My flight leaves Entebbe next month at 21:40. I'm looking for a way to spend the day between check-in for the flight and hotel check-out that morning in Kampala. I was thinking of going to the Uganda Wildlife Education Center and/or Entebbe Botanical Gardens but don't want to have to return to Kampala to pick up my backpack from left luggage in my hotel. Any ideas about what I could do with my backpack in Entebbe or is there something better to see in Kampala?

Thanks!

I am interested in going to Uganda in late July. I am hesitant however, because of the gorilla permits. Does anyone know, will it be too late to get them? If I want to get them what is the best way? Any advice will be highly appreciated.

I would suggest people visit Ibanda village in the Rwenzori for a cultural walk, a cool night in the village, possibly a
dance by the local kids, very local. The tribe in the Rwenzori is the Bakonjo people. They have a community campsite,
a nice lodge with private cabins, Mabuku Valley Restaurant, owned and run by the women. Catch a local vehicle from Kasese town to Ibanda, or further up, to the next community, where UCOTA has a site. Trucks take the locals up and down, so you
can always get a…

Uganda

Hi. I just wanted to have some input from more experience travellers. It will be my first time travelling outside North America. Is it better to apply for a tourist visa in advance from Canada or directly buy it at Entebbe Airport? My gf's brother-in-law(who is American) always bought the visa at Entebbe Airport but something tells me it would be wiser to apply to the High Commission first. Also, can anybody give me an idea of how much a 8-10 days in Kampala could cost me please? Keep in mind…

I have about 10 days in Uganda in July, and feel like I have time to do only 2/3 of the following: Queen Elizabeth, Murchison Fall, Jinja. Anyone have thoughts on what is the most worthy of my time and effort?

At the moment I'm leaning towards skipping the white water rafting at Jinja and prioritizing seeing animals on the west and Murchison Falls in the north. But I'm open to other ideas!

We're starting the Uganda leg of our trip with a day in Bwindi, then a Day chilling at Lake Bunyonyi…

We are going to Uganda in June/#July and are really busy planning our trip right now.
Our problem is, that all the organized safaris we have found are sort of pricey, and we were wondering how people on a budget do that.
Does showing up at a visitor center of UWA one day and asking for a tour/game drive the next day work? For example in QENP, is there any alternative to the Mweya Lodge Game drives?
The same question for Murchison Falls park...
Thanks for your help!

So I arrive in Nairobi in a few days for a two month holiday flying out of Zanzibar. I think I am going to be spending a fair bit of it in Uganda, but will wait and see. Just have a few questions relating to the trip:

  1. Opinions if it is worth visiting Nairobi NP if I am planning on visiting Hells gate and going on one organised safari.

  2. Gorilla Trekking - I would like to do this and have been emailing companies for quotes. Does anyone have any experience with Span Safaries…

Hi,

I'm trying to decide (over email) whether to book a lower-end 5-day trip (including seeing gorillas) through Activentures Safaris versus Katona Tours and Travel. Any advice/opinions?

I sent me and my families passports of to the Ugandan high commission on the 22nd last month and have heard nothing back to say they are on their way back to me. The high commission are also not responding to my e-mails.

My English brain is worried by this however it's probably just that they run it like true Ugandan's and I will therefore get my passport in due time.

I've never got my visa's before hand so does anyone have any experience with it?

Thanks

Do you have any tips for places to go and things to do in Uganda and Rwanda? Any city or activity you can't miss? I have three months, October to December, and a limited budget.
Thanks!
