Hi,

I am person with some minor health issues and I am unable to go for trekking over 1 hour (30 mins is no problem anyway). Is there any chance to see gorillas for me? Whats less physically demanding - Rwanda or Uganda? Is there any chance to book permit for selected gorilla family (that is for example known for staying close) in advance ?

I dont want to risk joining the group and after 1 hour giving up...

thanks

Hello!

Is anyone planning on going Gorilla tracking in the next two weeks? This can be at any of the three Bwindi sites (or even at Parc de Volcans). I was hoping that I could possibly hitch (or pay for) a ride with anyone going gorilla tracking using a hired driver. Please get back to me asap, and I will try and meet you at the closest large town on your route to Bwindi (e.g Kable, Mbarara, Kisoro). My reason for doing this is, having been to bwindi before, and knowing the quality of the…

Hi guys,

I'm hoping you can help me putting together an itinerary for Uganda for +/- 10 days.

We fly into Entebbe, and fly out from Kigali (Rwanda) and want to cover some of Uganda in about 10 days prior to crossing to Rwanda.

Musts:

  1. Safari (preferably Murchison NP with Red Chilli Tours)
  2. Gorilla's (Bwindi Forest, I suppose)
  3. Chimps (where?)

Just by looking at the map, it seems the most logical to do it as following, but I need some help as to where to fit the chimps in as I…

Hi,
we have booked our Gorilla Permits a long time ago, and were informed we have to pick them up upon arrival in Kampala. Is that the usual procedere?

And that we first get to know which group and location we are booked to when we arrive?
We are just trying to do some planning- and find that rather odd.
Anyone with experience with that?
Thanks,
Kati

Help!

I am going to Uganda and Tanzania in June and need to find a phone that will work over there. I fly into Entebbe and then travel to Kampala first off.

What do you suggest I do. Should I buy a GSM capable phone here in the states along with an international SIM card and just hope that it works over there? Or should I buy one when I get there at the Entebbe airport? I am leaning towards buying a phone and SIM card when I get there but... I just need some advice (what is most reliable) (and…

Hey!

I am planning on going on a gorilla tracking tour at Bwindi National Park. I have read that there are several locations where you can start the tour: Buhoma, Ruhija, Nkuringo and Nshongi. Are there any important considerations about which one to choose or is it just a matter of where the permits are available? Would you recommend choosing a big gorilla family?

Thank you for your help!

Hi fellow travelers,

I am planning my first trip to sub-saharan Africa in January of next year.

The idea is to visit Uganda and/or Rwanda to see the gorillas. And of course, it being our first time in Africa, it would be wonderful to also see other animals.

I have done some research on where to go and what to do, but I still have some questions that I hope someone who's experienced can help me answer.

  1. From what I read on this forum, Rwanda has a more satisfying gorilla experience for…

Our family of three will be traveling together in Uganda for 2 weeks in early July. We're trying to figure the best way to get to the places we want to visit which include: Murchison Falls, Kibale, Bigote Wetland Sanctuary and Bwindi. We've already secured our permits for Bwindi. It seems hard to get from one area of the country to another when short on time. I'm thinking that it may make sense to take a tour to Murchison Falls through Red Chilli, or Backpacker's, and then rent a car and…

Hi,
after a lot of thinking it back and forth we have decided that we would like to go to Kidepo overland in July.
And now we are looking for travel companions, so we can share the costs. Right now its just the two of us, which still makes it a little expensive. So if you want to join and see Kidepo please contact us via PN!
