Hi,

looking for a bit of advice if anyone can help. After my time in Uganda I am planning to travel to Rwand where I understand that a Yellow Fever vaccination and certificate is required at immigration.

Could anybody advise on a reputable clinic in Entebbe or Kampala which might be able to sort me out?

Cheers

I crossed the border (by land from Burundi) to Rwanda less than a month ago and was not asked for the certificate (nor was I when I arrived by air) but it is probably a good idea to get it anyway

The Surgery in Kampala is a reliable travel clinic. They even have Malarone. Two of the physicians are certified in Tropical Medicine by the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine, and the Surgery is on the US Embassy list of suggested medical practitioners.

Their web site is being reconstructed, so the only thing you'll get there is contact info.

While I was composing this post, a test version of their new web site suddenly came up. So you may or may not get it. I got this from the test site:
> We stock a full range of travel vaccinations including: Rabies, Yellow Fever, Hep A, Hep B, Meningitis, Typhoid, Cholera, Tetanus, Polio, Diphtheria.

Thanks folks.
I wrote to the people at the hostel where I'll be staying in Kampala and they too recommended The Surgery. I've fired them off an e-mail and hope they'll be able to accomodate.

It's always a risk, but neither ourselves nor anyone else on the bus was asked for the yellow fever certificate coming from either Uganda (Cyanika) or Burundi (Kayanza) into Rwanda. Only place where they were strict was Dar airport.

To be on a safe side of having an uninterrupted travel, just have one, the guys at immigration often wake up once in a while to ask for such requirements.

I had one at the Kampala Capital City Authority Clinic in may and its set to expire TEN Years from the time of Vaccination.
