Planning to spend the month of November in Northern Tanzania (safari), Kenya (Nairobi and surroundings) and Uganda (maybe Gorilla tracking) and trekking.

How will be the weather like? I am getting mixed reports. Do I need warm clothings or shorts and T-Shirts are enough.

Thanks.

Assuming you are an adult, and wish to be viewed as one, light trousers rather than shorts is the way to go.

Very generally speaking, day-time temperatures are likely to be around 20-25 degrees in most areas, but a sweater and/or light jacket could still be useful for evenings and during early-morning game drives (which can be surprisingly chilly).

What's the problem with shorts when there are 25 degrees?

No problem, just that not all locals will regard it proper attire for an adult.

I agree with walkingmzungu. You will see tourists wearing shorts, but they are really only appropriate at the beach. November is the start of the short rains, which can bring some cooler weather. Gorillas are at elevation, which means it can get quite cool--we had hot water bottles for our beds and we were glad to have them!

Peace,

BB

You would fee a bit ridiculous walking around Kampala or any other town wearing shorts because the only other people wearing them will be school children. No problem inside national parks though.

If it is as a form of respect for the local population I will be wearing long trousers, no problem...at least in towns.
