just a quick question: the price for the visa is always quoted in US dollars (still $50, i assume??); do they take the payment in US dollars as well? any other currency accepted? like shillings, for example..? surely there's an atm at entebbe airport?? thanks!!

50 USD. Cash. I think they accept EURO also (50, though, so you loose). I paid once in Shillings.
Just bring a bill of 50 USD.
ATM AFTER visa processing.

Mermaid46 - We just returned from Uganda. And, I would recommend that you bypass the visa-at-the-airport and attempt to get it before you leave. We received our passports from the Ugandan embassy so fast that we thought they were rejected! We we arrived in Entebbe, we walked right past the visa line (it was long). At least when we were there, no one was helping them. I always fear bribe requests and/or delays in country. And, for this reason, get all of my visas before I leave.
My 2 cents,
Darren

Darren:
- there are NO bribes
- the line goes quickly (and you can be quick be juimping off the plane quick)
- there is always someone for visa's. At least the last 95 times I arrived for a visa.

They only take dollars from what I remember, there is definately no bribery going on, the queue only takes 5 minutes, if you are staying less than 7 days you can get a transit visa which is a lot cheaper.
