Dear All,
I know there is another exchange about this matter but it's 2 years old and someone has been scaring me and my friends about recent changes to the system according to which a visa on arrival at Entebbe airport is impossible to get and deportation looms to everyone who'd try to get it.
We are a group of 6 friends (French, Spaniards, Australians and Americans) and we'll be meeting in Kampala for a stay of one week at the end of November. We're all arriving on late flights on a Friday or Saturday (between 22:00 and 24:00)...
Can someone please tell me
- whether the visa on arrival at Entebbe airport is available?
- whether the visa can be issued that late in the evening?
- what is the cost for a single entry visa?
I thank you so much in advance for your replies and wish you a great week end, wherever you are right now.

This truly has been answered many, many times. It still is the same.

whether the visa on arrival at Entebbe airport is available?
YES (for all nationalities you mentioned)

whether the visa can be issued that late in the evening?
YES (they await all flights)

what is the cost for a single entry visa?
50 USD

Two more updates:
1. You dont even need to fill a form anymore. Just your passport and the blue arrival card.
2. Some airlines might have an ignorant flight person checkin that gives you crap. I have it a lot of times nowadays. They want to see your visa when you check in. Just be adamant.

I spoke directly to someone at the Ugandan embassy in Australia a little while ago. They assured me that it is simple to get Visa at the airport for US$50. Whereas if I wanted to arrange a Visa before I travelled it would cost A$150. There concurred with me that it would be best to get Visa at airport on arrival and save myself about $100

No body should scare you at all at all. Uganda is marketing its tourism venture and therefore any delay in allowing in visitors means Kenya and Tanzania will stand an advantage. Don,t even buy the visa from a Ugandan Embassy in Your Country as its more expensive than at Entebbe International Airport in Uganda. You will only need your passport to have a visa at the airport </p> and enjoy

Thanx for clearing that up regarding visa`s on arrival. Im traveling to Entebbe at the end of the month and have just discovered that Uganda requires that your passport be valid for a year plus upon arrival, mine expires in 10months, i didnt double check this as i am a seasoned traveller and from experience know that most countries require a minimun of 6months.

Can anyone clarify this for me please, i live in Grand Cayman and am leaving in 2weeks exactly today for Uganda via Kenya. An application for a new passport will take up to a month. Please help!

They will 99% not give you any troubles. If they mention something (which I doubt), just saying "yeah, sorry for that, will get a new one soon, yaba yaba" will be enough.

Hi,
Did you get in ok with your passport not having 12 months. Just realised this rule, and leaving very soon, if you can reply ASAP that would be brilliant.
