When entering Uganda by land from Tanzania at the Mutukula land border crossing, can one pay for the visa on arrival only in US$, GB pounds or Euros, or can you pay in Uganda shillings (or Tanzanian shillings)?

Secondly, does anyone know the current cost of a visa on arrival (for single entry or multiple entry) at this crossing for New Zealand, UK or US citizens?

Thanks.

I crossed into Uganda from Kenya at Busia a few days ago, and they were charging everyone US$50. It had to be in US dollars. There were money-changers outside the customs office selling US dollars to people who did not have the required US currency.

It's US$50 for a three-month single-entry visa, US$100 for a six-month multiple-entry visa.

I don't imagine the price or the acceptable forms of currency would be different at Mutukula.
