Hi all,
Advice for someone who's never been to Uganda please - I'll be arriving via Entebbe and don't have anywhere to stay. Can someone recommend a cheap and cheerful place please? Or would I be better off jumping on the bus to Kampala?

Affordable places are Quite many, depends if you are spending time in Kampala or entebbe, Entebbe, has good places like Airport View Hotel, just in the next town after the Airport, and in kampala, i ve been to hotels like JBK, Diamond Hotel, all in the city centre, just tell the Cab Driver and he ll drop there, Enjoy!!!

If you're traveling alone and want to be around fellow travelers I would go to Kampala, and choose a hostel that suits your taste and budget. We stayed in the cottages at Red Chili and enjoyed them immensely although I can't comment on the dorms. People also like Backpackers in Kampala. The staff are very helpful and you'll meet tons of people. Although it never happened when we were there some people warned us that big bus tours use Red Chili and Backpackers so you may want to check into that if that's not really your thing.
We ended up staying in Kampala more then we thought we would, we found it a very friendly city with tons to see and do.
