Hi all,

I would like to see the solar eclipse in Uganda at the 3rd of November this year.
I will be in Murchison Falls at that time.
Trying to find what time the eclipse will be at its maximum however, I get mixed results.
So, is there anybody who can tell me at what time the eclipse will be at its maximum and where it would be best to see it?

Also, another completely unrelated question: how can I get in touch with Tripadvisor? I can't see any email address on their website. They're making it very difficult to get in contact....

Thijs - well after spending 10 minutes on google it appears that NE Uganda is where the eclipse will end. If you want to see the total eclipse then maybe you need to be in the Congo - either one. Do your own search - wikipedia has some advice. OH and if you just type in tripadvisor" into that same google you will have what you want.

Hello,

You can see the eclipse from Uganda and also Kenya, Ethiopia, and Somalia.
There is a line stretching across Africa where you can see the total eclipse, but
Eastern Africa is likely to be under clouds.

You can see the time and circumstances of the eclipse plotted on a map at the
NASA website. You will want to be in between the blue lines on the map to see the
eclipse, otherwise you will be missing the total eclipse.

Based on the map, you will NOT see the total eclipse from Murchison Falls, but you will
be close to a location where it will be visible.

Hi thijs,

How are your eclipse plans coming along? I'm also going to Uganda to see the eclipse.

Trying to figure out best accommodation and travel arrangements. The eclipse is visible along a track from Gulu to Pakwach, and some other astronomers are planning to watch it there.
