No need to pay lots to get a clean room. All the rooms I stayed in during 6 weeks in Uganda were very clean.
I paid an average of £11 a night for an s/c double in 2011/12, so unless it's fancy furnishings he needs, rather than cleanliness, you won't need to spend much more than that.

OK, but in and around National Parks, it's not so easy - also, if we want a private bathroom that's clean and a terrace with nice views.

It's not only about cleanness; I just want him to enjoy the journey and relax in a nice place sometimes, and in an adventurous place some other times.

11 pounds accommodation are what I usually take when I travel alone ... ; this time I'm looking for mid-range accommodation that's worth the extra money.

All the rooms I had included a clean private bathroom (s/c means self-contained) and some of them had terrific views - here's a couple of examples to look at to see just how much you can get for very little money in Uganda.

Better to splash out on something like private transport, or more activities, than on an expensive room, which is just somewhere to sleep after all.
