What's QENP like for getting around? We're doing a safari to Murchison so really we just want to go to a few places in QENP, maybe the lions at Ishasha, the Mweya Peninsula and the crater lakes. Can you get taxis between places or do you need your own transport?

Yes it's possible. I don't have my notes so can't do specific costs, but you can get in and around by taxi, and there is a decent hostel right at Mweya. You can get by bus to Katunguru (I think that's right--just looking at google maps), and then someone will get you to Mweya by taxi if you want to stay the night, or will take you in and around by taxi (OK if it's dry). As for Ishasha, there is at least one decent place to stay in Kihihi about 45 minutes from the Ishasha office. I was lucky to spot a leopard up around Mweya first thing in the morning, but absent that sort of serendipity I think the best part of Mweya is the boat cruise--sounded awful to me, but it was quite rewarding. Bad time of day unfortunately. There is not too much to see on land (I had just come from a very successful trip in Kenya so maybe my opinion is colored by that).

As for Ishasha, I took a taxi but you could also go the long way around. Again, 2WD is OK if it's been dry.
