Hi, the next 4 of september we´ll fly to Uganda!! I book the permits for the gorilla and the tour to Murchinson fall. Now I'm thinking about Queen Elisabeth and i don't know whats options are better, to rent a special taxi for a game drive, to book with Red Cilly (320$ by person) or to book with other agency in Fort Portal when we'll arrive to Fort Portal. In you have a extra information about it, i will be grateful. Another questions is if Fort Portal is the best point to visit Kibale-QENP-The craters-Kyambura Gorge.... or is better and quiet others sites. Thabk you very much.

From Fort Portal it's no problem to get to Kasese, ask for departure times in a hostel or the local tourist info board. From there on you'll need a special taxi to get to the park's hostel, which you do have to book in advance this time of the year. A local special taxi can drive you around for about Ush130.000 a day, if you bargain well enough. Ask a ranger, gatekeeper or any other local for a local taxi driver.
The problem is getting back. You have to take about the same way you came.

Kibale is just an hour from Fort Portal.
I'd say: do it yourself.

Have fun.

Yes it's easy to do by yourself as #1 indicates, unless you are trying to get to one of the more out-of-the-way areas.

Travel pics, many from Africa and Middle East/Central Asia.
The newest are from Algeria, South Korea and Taiwan.
