was hoping to see gorillas in Bwindi early next year, and wondering if anyone has recently paid for their permit with a traveller cheque?

Hi,thanks for your posting but i would i advise you to deal with any tour company in Uganda rather than dealing with UWA direct,its because tour company can help you to know which group you will track,or they can advise you on roads in Uganda.

Roads in Uganda are hectic as we no longer predict weather condition in Uganda and we have More than 10 groups in different area in Bwindi.

For paying with travelers cheques It will delay you as the permits is on cash and take.So deal with any tour company in Uganda to avoid any inconvenience for your trip.

Just call the wildlife office and ask for Moses - he will help and they also have an information paper with all informations (group etc.) you need! We did it on on our own with the wildlife office - everything was fine!
