Hello

I'm heading to Uganda for work in November and would like to take a few days to do some touring. I would love some feedback and reliable current information about any organized excursion to visit the gorillas and/or possibly some trekking.

Input on safety and security situation also welcome

I'll be staying in Kampala aside from this short stint.

Any other suggestions welcome too! Thanks

Pamela

I booked a 7 days bespoke tour for 4 people through a local company, Silverback Safaris. You can find their website on the internet. I had to pay by Western Union, but the tour was really excellent, fab driver and very efficient manager. It was a reasonable price and they organised permits for me for gorilla trekking. I would definitely recommend them.
In Kampala, if you don't a back packing lodge, but don't want a hotel either, try to get a room at Mamba Point Guesthouse in Nakasero, central Kampala. Have a fab trip - Uganda is amazing.

My wife and I just returned from Uganda. We went with Wild Frontiers. Everything was top notch including the bush camps, the food, guide, transportation (Toyota Land Cruiser), etc. Here's a link to their site: Best of Uganda tour/Wild Frontiers. If you want to see a video and a few pictures of our trip, you can find it here: OurDistantJourney.com. Note: I don't work for Wild Frontiers nor do I receive any payment from them. Just really happy with the experience.

My 2 cents,
Darren
