I'm in Kampala now and got a visa on arrival good for three months when I flew into Kampala. Plans changed and I am hoping to go to Rwanda and then back into Uganda. Can I go somewhere to make this a multiple entry visa? Or, will I need to pay for a new visa when I come back into Uganda? Thanks!

Just got an email back from the embassy in Brussels saying you can get a multiple entry visa
at Entebbe airport when arriving. But I think the office of immigration in Kampala is also a good place to go.
Don't know where it is, just ask around. Otherwise you have to pay for an extra visa when re-entering Uganda from Rwanda. Or you are on the exemption list for Uganda?

Pretty sure I'm not on any list here! But, I've heard reports that when traveling overland people have not needed to pay twice. I'm really hoping this is the case...

I know this post is 2 years old but my reply may be helpful to others trying to get a multiple entry visa for Uganda. If you are obtaining your "Multiple Entry Visa" or "Application for Extending Visitor's Pass"while in Uganda I believe you can only do this at the Ministry of Internal Affairs (Ministry of Works and Ministry of Lands), this is across from the Uganda Golf course and located on Jinja Road (you can take a bodaboda there pretty quickly).

You will have to go through security and then up the hill to the right through a green gate and go to room number 1. Here you will need the following for a "Multiple Entry Visa":
1. Fill application form (obtained at room number 1 in the ministry of internal affairs)
2. Covering letter (with clear address and tel. contact stating purpose for which visa is required)
3. Letter of good conduct (interpol)
4. 2 passport size photos
5. Copy of passport (biodata page)
6. Evidence of frequent travels
7. Recommendation from/status of referees
NB: This visa is not for employment

I am still not completed with this process, which I believe may be very time consuming. I talked to multiple internationals waiting in line/queue who said they had to come back to the Ministry of Internal Affairs many times because the employees said that their paperwork was not yet sufficient. For others, this may not be a problem.

I am planning on filling out the "Application for Extending Visitor's Pass (Reg. 4) Format" which requires the following:
1. Fill application form (obtained at room number 1 in the ministry of internal affairs)
2. Covering letter addressed to the commissioner for immigration with full address in Uganda stating reason for extension
3. Copy of passport (biodata page)
4. Original passport
5. Support letter from host (where applicable)
6. Status of host (where applicable) e.g. passport copy, work permit copy, voters card
7. Confirmed return air ticket

I will attempt to extend my visitor's pass and reply to this post if there are any changes or important instructions that may be helpful to you.
