Hi all

My wife and I will be travelling in Uganda, Rwanda, Tanzania and Malawi from Nov to Jan, staying in budget accom, hostels etc.

Should we take a small net each, or opt for a double? which is more practical? any reccommendations on type/make/model?

Cheers

A lot of the single beds in Uganda are really quite big so when I was there a few years ago I bought a king size mosquito net at the time it cost me the equivalent of about £3 (top bargain). It's one of those square ones so you don't touch the sides like you tend to do with the mossie nets that have a central circular thingy.

Probably better off with a double, and if you have room in your baggage I'd be inclined buy a treated one at home and take it with you, The local ones available in Uganda, although very cheap, are also very poor quality. Not sure where you are coming from but any camping store should have an excellent selection of nets.

Take Care,

Rgds,

David
