So in late February 2014, I'll be doing about 2 weeks of trekking in Ethiopia, and the thought of going somewhere afterwards, presumably relaxing by a gigantic beautiful lake sounds quite nice to me. I was wondering if anyone may know of a good spot, smaller town on the Ugandan side of the lake that may be a nice place to relax for a few days before moving on. I'm not imagining a resort or anything like that. I've never been to the area before, and have just begun looking into traveling through Uganda, so any sort of feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you so much for your thoughts.

Cheers

You could try visiting the Bulago Islands- pineaple bay, it is a very beautiful place on the lake. You will have to book in advance and they will arrange a pick up boat from the mainland.

Or even just stay at any of the beautiful budget accommodation in Entebbe town and walk down to the lake Victoria beaches in the area with your picnic basket.

I am a travel consultant in Kampala and can help you with most of the information you will need about Uganda.

Looking for a quiet town around the lake;Entebbe would be a great place to stay then take a boat ride on the lake and close it with a sunset cruise which is popular during that period coz its a sunshine month. I am a travel agent in Entebbe and I would organize an itinerary for your short stay. Ciao

Jinja!!! You can take a booze cruise on the Nile. Or chill at Hairy Lemon island. And if you're bored of chilling, you can go whitewater rafting.
