Hello,

i'm starting to plan a trip to africa, including uganda for next March and i'm hoping to do also a 3 days gorilla tracking in bwindi.
I have contacted a few operators but for the moment, i have been quoted over $1700 for it, as they haven't got anybody else booked for now. The question is:
is it easy to arrange a trip directly there (providing i get the permit in advance), without having to organize everything from UK?
Everywhere else i have traveled before, i have always found some local agent on the spot and joined other travelers for my treks ; is it similar in uganda as well or do i really need to get all arranged in advance?
How much should i expect to pay for a 3 days trek, including permit? I'm happy to stay in very budget accommodations but also in this case there seem to be limited options.
I'm traveling on my own and the price for a single traveler is almost double of what i would pay by going with a group.

Thank you very much for your help

M

To my opinion that is a fair amount especially if you are traveling alone, but you can pay a little less than that if you join a group, i can refer you to a friend who organizes tours he most probably has some people who might join at that time, am sure you can pay around $1100, his email is richard@tamanitours.com
