Hey guys!
I am travelling to Uganda for the month of January. I am interested in going gorilla tracking in Bwindi around the 30/12, before I commence a volunteering program.
I am trying to organise it in advance as I have heard permits are hard to get hold of around the end of December. I have been recommended a company by the UWA, but because I am a sole traveller the price is a little more than I had hoped ~US$1000 if we have two people... and probably less if there are more people again. The price includes return transport from Kampala to Bwindi, gorilla tracking permit and guide and accommodation in Buhoma (night one) and Lake Bunyonyi (night two). I was wondering if anyone else might be interested?
Thanks guys!

Gorilla permits for December are still available.
You can contact safari companies many of them buy gorilla permits and sell them to their clients.
UWA ( a guy call Moises) told me by telephone that there are permmits available for February (when we want to go), I asked to send me an email with the bank information, but basically they dont send me anything or answer my emails. They want to force us to go with an agency. I went in 2005 to Rwanda and it was so easy to get them. I think we will cancel our trip to Uganda and go to Rwanda since is just not very good what UWA does.
Hey guys,
Thanks for the posts but i think no one is interested to join you as we are in low season till next year in march,if you can push your Safari next year you will get someone to join you.
Gorilla permits are available in Uganda but you have to check with tour companies as they buy all permits in advance and they keep it for sale to their clients.
By Safarigo Uganda.

I returned two weeks ago from a 3 days Gorilla Tracking trip. It was great-do not miss it! UWA impossible to hold of. Try local tour operator. They can buy permit for you for a reasonable fee. For my trip for 2 people, I used Gorilla Life Safaris & Travel Limited, contact Salim at +256 (0) 312 514 745 or email: info@gorillalifesafaris.com. His cost is very reasonable and he will go extra mile to help.
