hi fellow travellers! after extensively researching online about uganda visa, i've still got no clear answers, i'm just baffled at the sheer amount of contradicting information out there!! therefore i would appreciate any help with my little query.

ok, so i'm pretty convinced that you can get a single entry tourist visa on arrival at entebbe airport, right? how about multiple entry visa, do they also issue that at the airport? do i need a multiple entry visa if i visit rwanda and then re-enter uganda? what i've understood so far is that uganda, kenya and tanzania have some sort of agreement about this (crossing borders with single entry visa), but rwanda is still exluded? i would love to hear from someone who's been travelling in these countries recently and has the latest information.

also, to get the visa at entebbe airport, is any other documentation needed apart from passport? do i need yellow fever vaccination certificate? i'm travelling with a finnish passport, and the length of my stay all in all will be six weeks.

cant get a multiple upon arrival, only single
if you go to Rwanda and back, you still much better of buying two single entries as cheaper and easier
YES YOU DO NEED YELLOW FEVER!
apart from 5 seconds of your time, your yellow fever and your passport, nothing else is needed for getting visa
conflicting information prob through your home base as they want to get the visa money, instead of the arrival desk at Entebbe airport

Rwanda is now officially part of the EA visa agreement, or at least it is recognised as such at Nairobi airport, may not have filtered out to all the border outposts, either way you are better getting single entry and if Uganda are now recognising Rwanda you will not have to pay again.

Hi, I recently got back from travelling around East Africa so hopefully I can help.

When I was there (May-Aug this year) only Tanzania, Kenya and Uganda were part of the EA Visa agreement as far as im aware. The agreement does not mean that you buy one single visa for the 3 countries (like i originally thought) but means you can travel from one country and back again without paying again - e.g. I travelled through Tanzania, then into Kenya, then when I came back into Tanzania the visa was still valid as it was within 3 months of its issue ... So in basic terms if your travelling around East Africa this agreement allows you multipe entries into the countries with just a normal visa.

I know this is quite a while since the original post.....however, I've just returned from Uganda. You have a few options for getting a Ugandan visa. You can buy a SINGLE entry visa at the airport (make sure you bring cash, I have a US passport and had to pay $50). It's no big deal they just ask a few questions and take your money. You are supposed to have a yellow fever certificate, though they've never looked at mine during my travels in Africa. You can also apply and buy a multiple entry visa from the Uganda consulate for a MULTIPLE entry visa. Or once you are in Uganda you can buy a multiple entry visa at the Mission....though this is after already paying for the single entry visa to get in. But remember you can only get a single entry at the airport.

I'm not sure about going in and out of certain countries on a single entry. I've never heard of it but it could very well be true.
