Weather in januari-april?

Planning at trip to Zambia, Botswana and Namibia in januari to april. Have checked the weather in the Lp and the words "Wet season", "stormy period" and "hot" comes up alarmingly often. So how bad is it monsun rains that flushes away roads or just occasional rains? And how hot is it? Is it still worth going there or should I do the trip at a different time?

From November to almost May there is the rainy season, with much rain - everything is overflowed, most National Parks and lodges are closed, most rivers and roads can`t be crossed. So travelling is very limited. From May on it does not rain any more and starts to get drier and drier - August and September are very dry and hot. But animals are easier to be seen. I prefer June/July, the mornings are very fresh (to cold), it does not get very hot at any time, and there is still some green. So, you have to decide...
