Anyone ever volunteer in an Orphange in any part of Africa. Really want to go to Africa and help with kids but all these organizations want phenomenal amounts of money. Are there any other ways to help with out giving up your first born. I wanted to go to Tanzania but was advised against it by a travel agent. Help.........Text

yes, loads of people have, especially in Tanzania. you can check my blog for my experiences volunteering in a Tanzanian orphanage if you're interested. find a place, organise it directly and bring a donation with you - there's no need to pay Western companies $$$ for the privilege of them pocketing the money.
