Uganda Visa at Rwanda Border??

I am traveling to Uganda next weekend from Kigali. I will cross at Gatuna (Katuna). I am a US passport holder and was wondering the exact price of a visa at the border, I have read $50 and $35. Also can this be paid in Rwanda Francs or Ugandan Shillings or do I need to find some US$ to pay for the visa??? Thank you!

Make sure you apply for the visa before you proceed to the boarder. it should be at least 3 days before you proceed to the immigration at KATUNA. USD are more preferred

Really? I have read multiple places that you can just get them at the border upon arrival. I just need a basic single entry visa.

I also thought you could get a visa on arrival- you definitely can flying in, and also at the border with Kenya.

The visa is USD50 unless Americans have some special treatment. No problems to get it at the border.
