Travelling through Madagascar in October.

Country forums / Africa / Madagascar

Hi,

I love and have done a fair bit of independent travel and I believe in enjoying and getting the most out of life.
I will be visiting Madagascar for 3 weeks from October 3rd and was hoping to meet some travelling companions.
My current (loose) plans are to fly into Tana, and make my way to the East Coast with a view to finishing on Ile Sainte Marie.

Stuart

Hello,
If you have 3 weeks you can go to the south west first take the river trip then continue to Tsingy , there is easy way to join a group then you can fly back to Tana it takes 10 days then drive to the east coast start in Andasibe then follow the national road 2 to Toamasina , from here you can extend your tour to Sonierana Ivongo where you can catch the boat to St Marie then fly back to Tana.
Good luck!
Anne

Hi Stuart

just arrived myself & was after much the same thing, although hadn't decided on which direction to head and was planning on leaving Tana on the 3rd Oct....do you know where you will be staying? Could be worth getting in touch if I'm still in Tana as I have a few months to explore the country with fairly 'loose' plans myself on which way I'm going first!
