Travel Guide

Country forums / Africa / Egypt

We planned the trip of a lifetime through Egypt with our 3 teenage children. Searching on the internet, we found several companies that had set itineraries travelling through Egypt. As we started to contact several about some modification to suit our interests, we found Real Egypt to be the company that was the most helpful and flexible to ensure we were able to fit in all OUR highlights. Samir Abbass, was most supportive and accommodating, offering advice and suggestions on how to maximize our time and experience in Egypt.

He was able to split our sightseeing travels into 2 separate trips to accommodate our week of diving in the Red Sea. Real Egypt showed us not only the main historical sites but also let us experience the lovely local culture of Egyptian people.

Our guides had master level education and were able to keep the teenagers engaged. History was made real and had our teenagers asking for extra time in museums. Their knowledge was not only related to history but to current Egyptian and world affairs. I would not hesitate to recommend Samir Abbass and Real Egypt as a tour company to give you the experience of a lifetime in one of the oldest countries in the world.
At no time did our family ever feel threatened or unsafe. Our tour guides even helped us with purchases at the local markets.
All 5 of us loved our time in Egypt and felt like we made friends in the experience.

Ho hum, another one who's joined TT just to promote a tour company.

Sorry this bored you. I find this very helpful when people tell me about their experiences with particular guides. My intent was to help other travellers have an adventurous enjoyable local cultural experience. A large part of adventure travel when you get off the beaten path depends on who does the planning and guiding. We found this in Namibia, South Africa, Australia, Thailand,Bali and Saipan. Bottom line... We had a safe enjoyable experience with Samir, including giving our teenagers a great experience.
We believe in giving kudos when people go above and beyond.
