My friends just returned from Africa and they recommended a guy called James whom they used,he has a minibus and a number of tour cars wit a good price, apparently they only have one of his driver's number.She is called Christine and you can contact him thru her on 0788021254.

"WinnieAnn" has been spamming this board with her undying love for Active African Vacations in the past; she is a bit less obvious now, but dont be fouled.

LP seems to be slacking again in policing the Tanzania/Kenya branches, and there are a LOT of touts now making blatant and sometimes not so blatant publicity for their company.

Nikel: hire from an officially registered company, not from touts on this board, if you want to avoid lots of trouble.

In the economic market we all struggle to get our selves better but the weak take there time to spoil what others have built for years. Please try to learn from that statement

I just like to make a comment to winnieann and the other touts.
It is doing harm to your buissness I find your reccomendations useful however as people's whole holiday relies on you people become very wary about people advertising in the wrong place.

However I have struggled to find anything negative said on the web about the Active African although only 1 positive comment that seemed legitimate.

Hi. I'm not sure about saying thanks for the comments or what... I have to say that I can not trust to the comments given by those who are from Uganda or who do not specify their country. Hope to get some comments from travelers.

Alpha Car Rental appears as a reccomended company in my Uganda guide book. So I am in the booking stages with them $65 a day gets you a 4v4 self drive not sure of the extra cost for driver.

There quote was the best value for money without a driver and there payment is when I arrive in Uganda so I get to see the car. So far they seem good.

Smallmasterr, What constitutes "an officially registered" company -- registered with who?
Nikel, I've just looked in the LP guide to East Africa and there are a few recommendations for car/driver hire. Let me know if you want info on the three companies listed (nothing specifically about minibuses though). Good luck with your search. I hope you can get some straight advice.

If a company is not listed there, its not officially registered as a tour company. Something goes wrong, you are totally on your own. Any serious company is registered with AUTO.

Billyssali I apolagise for any inconvienience my incorrect grammer has caused you.

I made agreement at the end with Edward from Alliance Safaris & Travel Ltd b'cos he is offering the car we need and he didn't demand prepayment for it. And I trust also to Billy and in the case if anything will go wrong I will be glad asking him for help.
