Passengers advised not to sit on locomotives

Accra, Aug. 18, GNA - The Ghana Railway Development Authority (GRDA) on Tuesday advised passengers who travel on the Accra-Nsawam shuttle to stop sitting on the locomotive, hanging in the coaches and standing on the doorways of moving trains.

It warned that apart from the apparent dangers about the safety and lives of such passengers, the act was unlawful.

I have to say, I had no idea there was a locomotive. Interesting.

My wife and I took the train northward from Accra a couple of times. That was 40 years ago. Once the engineer took us into the cab. (Cab?) I remember the fire under the boiler was generated via pipes spraying oil.

and Ghana is also going to ban smoking in public places...that'll be a hoot!
