Overland tour from Falls to Cape Town

Hello,

I am planning on doing an overland trip from the falls to Cape Town. I have looked at several different sites (intrepid, African Travel Co, Dragoman, Gap Adventures, Drifters) and I have found very different reviews of the tour operators. Does anyone have any suggestions on travel companies that they would recommend? Any experiences with this overland itinerary?

The first three you list are all pretty solid.

I would contact each company and ask them who their best tour leaders are. Then see if any of these top leaders will be running the trip you are interested in. An experienced tour leader makes all the difference--much more so than the other factors such as vehicle, etc.

Why not do it independantly?

A friend did the same trip with Dragoman/ Intrepid (they now do a joint tour from the falls to Cape Town) and really enjoyed it. I have therefore booked the same one and am going later this year. I have travelled with Dragoman in South America (for 3 months) and it was AWESOME!!
