National emergency number

Hi,

I am looking for the national emergency number for Namibia, to be dialed from a satelite phone.

Why?

because I collect phonenumbers...
wrong..
because we might need it when travelling (hope not).

The reason I asked- if in certain emergencies, most African countries do not have a search and rescue team of any kind to assist you. Recently the Botswana Military sent out a helicopter to 'rescue' some tourists where their vehicle broke down- not a good thing in this case. The emergency locator beacon was activated and South Africa alerted the Botswanans. They may just charge next time for that kind of rescue, if they respond at all.

If it is a vehicle breakdown, get tel #s of companies that assist in that. Mecto in Maun comes out to Moremi- Kwai River mostly for the idiots stuck in the river.

Ok, thanks for the advice.
It's because we have 2 children with us, that we want to have the numbers at hand.
We have no intentions of doing any risky trip, but want to be prepared for the worst, just in case.
I;ll look up the details for Mecto.
