Nairobi Backpackers / hostels

Seems lots has changed recently in Nairobi as some hostels that were recommended to me are not open or not to be found....?

Anybody got some up-to-date information on good backpacker accomodation in Nairobi? Preferably places to meet other people and to get some information on safari trips and onward travels.

Try Karens Camp in Karen Nairobi.

Upperhill campsite othaya road (used to be in upperhill) v friendly place can be a bit quiet at times but good place to meet people

I would try Wildebeest Camp. It is just off Ngong Road. Lovely gardens, clean rooms, nice staff, safe compound - what more could a girl on her own ask for. www.wildebeesttravels.com

I had heard that Nairobi Backpackers closed before Christmas last year and that Upperhill Campsite has moved from its Upperhill location.
